Karla + Warren

September 24, 2008

This past July I shot a gorgeous wedding out at the Whonnock Lake Centre – No wonder this place gets booked up YEARS in advance!!! You can’t go wrong with a venue like that! Karla and Warren had a beautiful day – everything went perfect. The weather cooperated, the bridal party was HOT, and there was no shortage of photo locations!!!
I have known Karla since my high school years, and I was so lucky to have a past bride I had photographed in the wedding party too!

Kelly – who’s wedding was what Started my photography career back in…. 2004? my gosh, I can’t even remember the year!

Getting Ready….

Karla & Warren decided to do the “First Look” sequence so we could get some extra photo time in before the ceremony began. I would recommend this to ANY bride. It made for a magical moment before the ceremony, and some great photos!!!!

The Men…

The Women…

Onto the Ceremony:

Thanks so much for having me capture your Special Day!!!!!

Remembering Allison…

September 23, 2008

Once in a while somebody enters your life and makes you realize how special your time here really is.
For me, that was Allison.

If one was to look up the term “trooper” in the dictionary, there would be a picture of Allison. At the age of 4 Allison was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma. Allison put up one heck of a fight for the last twenty years of her life. You can learn more about Allison’s battle here: www.lunchforlife.org/allison

I had the pleasure of first meeting Allison several years ago as she was helping out in my fathers office. Our paths crossed again in 2007 when she asked me to be the photographer for her wedding day. I was THRILLED to work with her and her fiance Jason. They had been through so much together, and every time you saw them you could see the love they shared with each other.

While most of us are busy and stressed planning our weddings we don’t stop to think about how precious life really is. We’re worried about the shade of bridesmaid dresses matching the flowers, and how our hair is going to look on the big day. Allison took on planning her wedding while fighting cancer. On September 29th, 2007 I had the pleasure of photographing the happiest day of Allison & Jason’ s lives together. They had a beautiful ceremony, and reception right out of a fairytale.

Sadly, this past Friday, September 19th 2008 Allison lost her battle.

Thank you for letting me photograph the happiest day of your life.
Thank you for showing us how strong one girl can be.
You have touched so many people’s lives and will forever be remembered.
May you rest peacefully in a world with all of our love, and no pain.

To have, to hold, and then to part;
Is the greatest sorrow of our heart.”
Allison Fuller (Wells) 1983 – 2008

It’s Show Time!

September 13, 2008

The Grand wedding Show has rolled into Canada Place. I won’t be exhibiting as I have a wedding and engagement session booked for this weekend, but I had the pleasure of taking some photos for a good friend at the show last night. Here are a few sneak pictures from her AMAZING booth at the show!
