On Mother’s Day morning I had the pleasure of meeting up with Connie and Rachel. We had tried several times to schedule the shoot, but for one reason or another things just didn’t work. It was fate that the planets would align, and we’d share Mother’s day morning together, walking around the streets of Steveston taking photos!

Allie’s Allies – A Portrait Fundraiser
May 7, 2009For those of you that don’t know me very well, my name is Carol-Ann Loeppky and I am a portrait photographer in Vancouver, BC. Back in September 2007 I had the pleasure to photograph the fairytale wedding for Allison and Jason. Even before their wedding, Allison’s story tugged on my heart strings. When she was only 4 years old she was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma – a childhood cancer. Her childhood was spent battling the disease, and against all odds – she was declared cancer free. Unfortunately in 2003 the cancer returned, and yet again she had to fight for her life. Allison defied the odds, and did so much while battling cancer – from gaining a diploma as a legal assistant, to planning her dream wedding. Unfortunately, on September 19th, 2008, only days before her first wedding anniversary, Allison passed away.
To read more about Allison’s story please click here: http://www.conquercancer.ca/site/TR?team_id=9480&fr_id=1281&pg=team
It is in her honour, that her husband Jason, and his teammates from Allie’s Allies is riding in the 2009 BC Ride to Conquer Cancer. “The Ride to Conquer Cancer benefiting BC Cancer Foundation is an epic cycling journey through Canada’s Pacific region, for a distance of over 200 km. Proceeds will support breakthrough research, exemplary teaching, and compassionate care at the BC Cancer Foundation, a leader in cancer research and care. “
According to the Canadian Cancer Society,
“On the basis of current incidence rates, 39% of Canadian women and 44% of men will develop cancer during their lifetimes.” That statistic is absolutely alarming. Lets do this for Allie, and for every other Cancer fighter and survivor out there.
To support the team, Carol-Ann Photography is holding a portrait fundraiser at Barnet Marine Park on Sunday, May 24th from 11:00am-5:00pm.
For a minimum $30 donation you will receive a 15 minute photo session, and a complimentary 8×10 print. The full $30 will be donated to the Allie’s Allies team for the Ride to Conqueror Cancer.
Families, couples, children, pets – everyone is welcome to join! To reserve a time slot, please contact us ASAP at info@carol-annphotography.com
To confirm your booking the $30 donation will be collected before hand. Donations can be mailed and addressed to Carol-Ann Loeppky (please email me for the address)

Babies & Beauties
May 1, 2009Last week I had to do double duty – an awesome newborn shoot with baby Shayne – yet another little princess who didn’t cry!!!!!! Then it was on to a quick photo session with Brooke before her prom. I’ve known brook since 1997 when they moved next door to my parents house.
First up is little baby Shayne. She was tiiiiinnyy, and such a little super star.
and Brooke, who has grown up to become a beautiful woman.
It’s unbelievable that I used to dress her up in her bathing suit and pig tails, and choreograph dances to “Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini” in the back yard!
