Melanie & Markus – Vancouver Urban Engagement Session

The first time I met Melanie and Markus I fell in love with their big day. For real. If I was to get married again (to the same guy of course) I would have their wedding. It is EVERYTHING I’ve ever wanted :p
I am counting down the sleeps until their big day at Saar Banks Farm in Abbotsford, and can’t wait to share those images with you! For their engagement session, they wanted something to contrast the rural feel of their wedding photos… and I had JUST the location for them! We met up last night for some shots just before sun down and I am LOVING them! These two are naturals in front of the camera, and we laughed and laughed and laughed. (Thanks for putting up with the random unfortunate things laying around on the ground guys – YUCK!)

Meaghan & Dave’s Vancouver Engagement Session

Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting up with not only Gabrielle & Rob (who I have known since we were in Brownies together), but I also got to meet up with Meaghan and Dave. Meaghan and I have known each other since we were about 2 years old. My family moved into the house next door and we were instantly great friends. I have fond memories of dressing up as brides (with complete hair and makeup i may add!) in our flowy white dresses, and hand picked bouquets… Even at that age we were dreaming of getting married! I’ll have to dig up some photos

It was such an honour to have Meaghan and Dave ask me to capture their big day. Excited, and NERVOUS to capture these special moments for someone I have known so long. Meaghan wanted to capture the beautiful cherry blossoms in their engagement photos, so we headed down to Queen Elizabeth Park to grab some great shots. After that, we got to incorporate Dave’s love for the Vancouver Canucks (which was coupled with some not so nice words from both of us after this season’s crappy finish!!!) We wanted to contrast the beautiful park setting with something urban, and I think that was accomplished!! (sorry for having to walk through all the really gross stuff on the ground guys!) :p

Gabrielle & Rob’s Vancouver Mini Maternity Session at Queen Elizabeth Park

Gabrielle and Rob first graced the Carol-Ann Photography Blog back in 2010 with their UBC Engagement Session. We were all wow’d with their absolutely gorgeous Pemberton Adventure Ranch wedding in 2011. (which we both agree has the most.amazing.ceremony.backdrop.ever!) And yesterday I got to celebrate the next step of their lives together at Queen Elizabeth Park! Gabrielle and Rob are expecting a little bundle of joy in May! Congratulations you guys!!!! I can’t wait to meet the newest addition to your perfect family <3

Hilary & Nathaniel’s Coal Harbour Engagement Session

You’d never know yesterday started with huge raindrops, and terrible weather…. We were pretty much convinced that Hilary & Nathaniel’s engagement session would be postponed, but just like that the clouds parted, and we were left with one of the most beautiful evenings in Vancouver this year. We met up at the Coal Harbour Community Centre and had a great time exploring around there, and a local park. We had a ton of fun, and I can’t wait to capture their special day this summer!!!
