Connor’s Nautical Nursery

Ever since we found out we were having a little boy, I knew he would have a nautical nursery.  From the gender reveal, to the baby shower, and now to the nursery – his marine roots had to be shared! 🙂  His daddy grew up on the water, and I know it’s going to play a big role in Connor’s life.  (heck, he’s got an ocean front cabin to explore!!!)  It’s a bit late, and not completely finished yet, but here’s Connor’s Nautical Nursery!

(there is an oar from the boat at the cabin that needs to be mounted over his big boy bed, and I have to sit down and pick out a canvas for above his crib still)

Introducing the Newest Addition at Carol-Ann Photography – Connor!

Life is always full of surprises – and our little man decided to surprise us 10 days early (when I was sooooo sure he was going to be late).

Connor Loeppky was born on Thursday, January 10th 2013, and weighed in at 7 lbs. 11 oz. We are so over the moon with him. I can’t wait to share more photos!

If you are waiting on an email reply, please be patient.  I’ve finally gotten back to checking them, but I’ll admit it’s going slowly 🙂

But for now, here is a quick sneak peek.  It’s taking a bit of time to adjust (thank goodness for Grandma’s and Grandpa’s and their help!)

Maternity Leave – Carol-Ann’s having a baby!

Well, the time has come.  The cameras have been sent off to be cleaned before our little boy makes his appearance and I am officially on self-imposed maternity leave. (while frantically trying to get caught up before the rush of the Christmas Season & arrival of our little man)  Unfortunately I will not be taking on any more sessions until Spring 2013.  I do however, have some great suggestions for other photographers in the area who you may be interested in.  Don’t be a stranger – send me an email at carol-ann@carol-annphotography.com with the type of session you are interested in, and I will be sure to forward on some names! 🙂

I’l be back again with an update before the new year and maybe even a few photos of the bump 😉

who am I kidding – there can’t be a post without a photo!  here’s Paisley – very excited about the arrival of her baby brother.

Chris & Kim – ENGAGED! Chris’ Sneaky Proposal Photo Idea!

Alright gentlemen – listen up….
If you want to make your girlfriend think you are the most incredible dude in the world – follow in Chris’ footsteps! 🙂

Chris and I had been in touch via email for a few days now as he planned the perfect proposal for his soon-to-be fiance Kim.  We nailed down all of the details this morning and it was go time!
Here was the scene:  Chris gets a business phone call and has to step out of  the venue meeting (business as in a giddy photographer calling him saying “i’m here! it’s go time!!!”)

Chris comes out to the chosen location (Mayfair Lake’s BEAUTIFUL ceremony site) and we finalize the details.
Then, I – the 7 month pregnant photographer –  jumps in the bushes, hides and waits – paparazzi style 😉
Kim makes her way out to the ceremony site, and they both walk up onto the beautiful bridge…
That’s where the magic happened.  I’ll let the pictures do the talking 🙂

CONGRATULATIONS KIM AND CHRIS!  You guys are beyond adorable!  Thank you for letting me capture such an incredible moment in your lives – something not many get photos of!!!

Tyler & Sheena’s Richmond, BC Wedding

Saturday was a great day – sure it rained buckets, but that didn’t stop us all from celebrating the marriage of Tyler and Sheena.  I was anticipating this wedding for many reasons – it is my last wedding of 2012, and the wedding of a very dear friend of mine!  I have known the groom (and the boys in the bridal party for that matter) for the last 9+ years.  We shared many a boat rides, house parties, and camping trips in that time.  All of which made Saturday even more special to me.

I met up with Sheena and her beautiful girls to get ready, then it was off to the chapel!  Minoru Chapel was the perfect place to share their nuptials   From there it was off to city hall, and the Richmond Olympic Oval to grab some under cover areas to take our photos (YAY for Richmond having some pretty darn cool under cover spots – it really helps on those liquid sunshine days!)  From there it was off to the Flying Beaver Bar and Grill for the wedding party to have a little break, grab a bevvie, and ramp up for the reception.  I absolutely loved that Sheena had incorporated a fun hangout place of theirs into the big day – and some downtime for the wedding party!  (i know the wedding party enjoyed it too!)

While there may have been some glitches along the way, I’d say the day was pretty darn near perfect.  There aren’t two people better suited for each other, and I was so honoured to have played such a big role in their wedding day.  As an added bonus, there are a few photobooth teasers at the end too 😉 Their guests sure knew how to party!!!!!

Congratulations Tyler and Sheena!  We are so so so happy for you guys, and can’t wait to be a part of your happily ever after!
